Colonel John Haynes AM was a long time President of the Royal Australian Armoured Corps Association (NSW) and had a distinguished period of service in the Australian Army. He was an active advocate for serving RAAC members and veterans, and their families over an extended period before he passed away in early 2020.
On 30 August, 2021 the RAACA (NSW) created a Trust in his honour and was fortunate to have received a considerable bequest from the estate of the late Colonel John Haynes AM. The Trust invested the funds with the intent to use proceeds to fund welfare support and education for current serving and former members of the Corps, as well as their immediate family on a national basis.
The RAACA (NSW) Executive Committee is the Trust's higher authority. The Executive Committee provide the banner under which the Trust operates and appoints Trustees. Regular progress reports are to be provided to the Executive Committee.
Financial grants are available for eligible serving and former members of the RAAC and their immediate family for welfare, education and development.
